Collaboration and open minds lead to innovation for new Atlanta Falcons stadium

Posted on July 20, 2015

"Keeping an open mind is critical – partners, allies and great ideas can come from the most unlikely places."

So says Scott Jenkins, General Manager for the new Atlanta Stadium, future home of the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL, in the July/August issue of Design Intelligence. The article is a panel discussion with Jenkins and BASF’s Michael Fletcher that previews their session at the 2015 Leadership Summit on Sustainable Design in October.

In the article, Jenkins and Fletcher, who is Commercial Segment Manager for the Center for Building Excellence, discuss the unique process used on the stadium project – namely having the world’s largest chemical company join the table with the design and construction teams right from the start.

"I welcome the voice of the manufacturer at the table, particularly the teams I have experienced with BASF that truly listen to our needs before making recommendations,” says Jenkins in the article. “Not only did we discuss product applications, but also tools such as lifecycle analysis and environmental product declarations to achieve our pursuit of LEED® V4 Materials and Resources credits."
