BASF at the AIA Conference on Architecture 2018

What does the blueprint for better cities look like? After speaking with builders and architects at A'18, we learned that creating a blueprint for better means working together to design and build structures that embody collaboration, sustainability and resilience.

From June 21 to 23, the 2018 AIA Conference on Architecture offered the opportunity for builders, architects and BASF construction experts to learn from each other by not only talking about the issues of today, but of the challenges we will encounter tomorrow. With expert advice from our BASF construction team, those who attended were able to get the in-depth knowledge they need to make the right decision for their next project.

Joel W. May and Disaster Durable Solutions™

In 2012, Joel created Disaster Durable Solutions™ for BASF’s Performance Materials Business. He is currently working on the front lines of mitigation with a world-class network of scientists, academics, manufacturers and other experts who solve real-world building failures and produce solutions with finite, quantifiable results in the infrastructure, commercial and residential markets.

Justin DeMarco and BASF Neopor® GPS

Bob Ober and Basotect^® foam

Bob Ober may be new to the Basotect® team, but he is not new to BASF. Since 1999, Bob Ober has had numerous roles within the organization; the most current being the North American Business Development Manager for Basotect® foam. Basotect® is a flexible, open-cell foam made from melamine resin. This thermoset polymer offers building characteristics that architects and builders look for: high sound absorption, low weight, easy install, fiber-free, fire resistant, flexible and more.

Robert G. Moran Jr. and Walltite®

Bob Moran is a National Accounts Manager-Building Envelope for the Business Development Team. He is a LEED AP BD+C and has been with BASF for more than 22 years. He has been involved with the Walltite US air barrier program which is a spray polyurethane closed cell foam that is an answer to many building envelope needs for an air barrier, thermal and continuous insulation, and vapor barrier/retarder. Walltite US is an approved air barrier material by the ABAA (Air Barrier Association of America), Green Circle Certified ( Material Ingredient Reporting for LEED v4, Option 1), GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold Certification, and is a leader the industry with many NFPA 285 compliant assemblies.
